MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Branch, observed Qatar’s National Environment Day with an array of notable initiatives run by enthusiastic students in an effort to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
The morning assembly took the lead and commenced with its broadcast on the significance of environmental consciousness and stewardship. The students’ collaborative stance in planning a captivating assembly for the entire school demonstrated the student body’s unity of purpose and provided substance to the themes and ideals that were anticipated throughout the day.
Packed with shovels and saplings, the students marched outdoors to engage in a tree planting drive throughout the school grounds. In addition to making the campus aesthetically pleasing, the project wanted to highlight how important trees are for enhancing environmental health and air purification.
MESIS witnessed a transformational event on Qatar National Environment Day, beyond a mere festivity. An ecologically aware and responsible school community has begun to take shape courtesy of their combined efforts, motivated leadership, and enthusiastic involvement. This particular day, when the sun set, MESIS’s future shone brighter and greener.
