SIRAT-UN-NABI ELOCUTION AND HOLY QURAN RECITATION COMPETITIONS

 

On November 8, 2023, Thursday, MES Indian School held the Sirat-Un-Nabi 25th Quran recitation and the 28th elocution competition. Three students from MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Br. participated in the Quran recitation competition: one student from the junior category, one from the senior category, and one student each from the junior and senior categories for elocution.
As such, Talha from grade 6E bagged the second prize in the junior category for Quran recitation.
Speaking at the session, the Chief Guest, Mr. Azmy Ameer, President of Oryx Universal College (Liverpool John Moores University), Qatar, praised the school for its admirable efforts in fostering Islamic principles and values in the minds of the future leaders of modern day society. In addition, he implored the students to step up and support the upholding of justice as well as the reestablishment of harmony and peace. The distinguished guest of honor was Mr. O.M. Siddiq, Director of Moral Education & Islamic Affairs, M.E.S Governing Board.
The winners received trophies and certificates, and the distinguished chief guest awarded the first-place winner a special cash prize. The audience witnessed an exquisite rendition of “Na’th” by the school choir students. A number of people were present at the event, including the president, Dr. Najeeb K.P.; the director of moral education and Islamic affairs, Mr. O.M. Siddiq; the director of academics, Mr. Ashraf Sharafudheen P.T.; the director of transport, Mr. Faisal Mayan; the members of the school governing body; principals from various schools; parents; and teachers.
