MES INDIAN SCHOOL, ABU HAMOUR BRANCH CELEBRATES GANDHI JAYANTI

 

 

MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Branch celebrated ‘Gandhi Jayanti’, the 153th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation of India, with great enthusiasm and splendor on 02nd October 2022. A special assembly was held in the school multipurpose hall. The celebration commenced with Quran recitation by Ms Fathima Zanha. MESIS Vice Principal, Mrs Pramila Kannan welcomed the chief guest and enlightened the students while focusing on the message of Gandhiji to follow the path of truth and non-violence.

MES Principal Mrs. Hameed Kadar was the chief guest of the celebrations. She addressed the gathering. She conveyed the message to follow the path of harmony and peace as preached by Mahatma Gandhi. She also said that, people take this day to remember a man who is responsive in a huge way for the lives they are leading today. She urged the students to uphold the values of kindness, truth, non-violence, resilience, simplicity and peace – all the things Mahatma Gandhi stood for. It was followed by the splendid performances such as patriotic songs, speech on cleanliness, non violence and Gandhi Jayanti. The speeches by the students articulated and reflected the beliefs held by Mahatma Gandhi. Students were exposed to life and struggle of Mahatma Gandhi through effective video clippings and slide show. Students led choir sung Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan Vaishnav Janto with full exuberance. A fascinating tableau was presented by the students on salt Satyagraha.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the great deeds of Bapu were remembered and the audience were left with a sense of pride.

Various literary events such as, drawing, colouring, poster designing, collage making and essay writing for different categories of students took place in the school campus.

The event concluded with a thought in everybody’s mind that cleanliness is next to godliness and service to mankind is the first step towards reaching it. There was an amazing feeling of contentment filled with pride when the day ended with a promise to join hands and work towards making a better nation ahead.
