BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING FOR MESIS STAFF:

The quality of life following a cardiac arrest is greatly improved by prompt and efficient CPR. MESIS principal, Mrs. Pramila Kanan, structured a training workshop to determine the staff members’ current knowledge and competency in basic life support. The school health nurse of MESIS, Mrs. Shanu V. Shaji, conducted the training. It addressed both theoretical and practical areas. The subjects covered included handling cardiac arrest, administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and using an AED safely. The participants’ active participation made it possible to secure the most out of the medical data that was made available to them. By the time the training came to an end, every participant possessed effective knowledge regarding basic life support to serve as a first responder for BLS care until more advanced medical services are made available.
